Happy Chinese New Year!

Chinese New Year

A time of red packets, azn festivities, and lots of food! I hope everyone is enjoying themselves out there right now! I actually celebrated with my family at their restaurant last week, and the party was full of lion dances and martial arts displays. I think we all know when the real New Year is!

That was an interesting party. Lots of awesome, tasty, delicious food. That was probably the first time I’ve tasted real Chinese cooking since my trip to China in 2005. I enjoyed watching the lion annihilate that head of lettuce.

I’ve never really scene a lion dance up close. I’m no stranger to the food, though. Haha. Back here, we always have what we call “tikoy” around CNY season (I think it’s called “nan giao” in Chinese… it’s some sort of rice cake that’s sticky, often dipped in egg then pan fried).

They say it’s better late than never… Happy Chinese New Year! =)
